After winning 23 gold medals over the course of several Olympic Games, it’s now time for the American competitive swimmer, and the most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps to focus on another monumental chapter in his life: getting married to his Fiancée Nicole Johnson.
Phelps met the former Miss California in 2007 while she was working as a sports reporter. Jonson now works as marketing manager for the Michael Phelps Foundation that provides swimming lessons for underprivileged children.
Johnson has admitted that it wasn’t always smooth sailing for the couple. The two had an on-again, off-again relationship for eight years before getting engaged in February 2015. In May 2016, Phelps and Johnson welcomed their first child — a son they named Boomer Robert Phelps. Getting married seemed like the right step for the entire family.
The couple has said that Phelps will not be wearing his medals down the aisle and that they won’t be getting married in a pool either. We wish them all the best in the upcoming wedding planning!
