Soulmates Academy

Founders Jon & Andrea Taylor-Cummings have created an online education platform which uses on-demand, video-based courses – Relationship Essentials – to address the top issues that tend to derail relationships. In addition to working with couples and individuals under their #100kGreatRelationships campaign, they are also working with corporates & other institutions to have relationship education included as part of professional development.

The Marriage Course

The Marriage Course is a series of seven sessions, designed to help couples invest in their relationship and build a strong marriage. Nicky and Sila Lee, authors of The Marriage Book, developed The Marriage Course for couples looking for practical support to strengthen their relationship. The course is designed to help couples build strong foundations, learn to communicate more effectively and resolve differences well. Courses are run in various locations, including churches, homes and cafés, all around the globe.

Time for Marriage

Time for Marriage are a network of couples from many different denominations and backgrounds who believe in being authentic, vulnerable and full of faith for our marriages. We believe in God’s plan for renewed marriages, and we pray that God will transform marriages and families in the UK and beyond. We are committed to being part of the answer to that prayer. We are best known for our weekends away, where couples can slow the pace, reconnect and focus on their marriage.

Marriage Prep in-a-Day

Marriage Prep in-a-Day offers a contemporary, inspiring day for engaged couples, suitable for those marrying in a church or civil venue.

Marriage Care

Marriage Care is the largest faith-based provider of relationship support in the UK. Working across England and Wales Marriage Care’s team of over 650 trained and passionate volunteers provide marriage preparation and relationship counselling through 52 centres and 100 counselling locations. Our vision is for a society in which adults can form and sustain healthy marriages and committed relationships. We believe marriage preparation is an investment in the couple’s relationship over a lifetime and we offer engaged couples a group course Preparing Together and bespoke FOCCUS(c) sessions alongside the availability of relationship counselling, should it be needed, at any point in their married life.

Care for the Family

Care for the Family is a national charity that has been running for over 30 years. Founded by Rob Parsons, the organisation aims to promote strong family relationships and to help those who face family difficulties. Care for the Family provides parenting, relationship and bereavement support through events, resources, courses, training and volunteer networks.

CARE

CARE (Christian Action Research and Education) is a Christian charity seeking to uphold human dignity and to support the most vulnerable people in society, engaging with politicians in the UK Parliaments & Assemblies and promoting Christian community-based initiatives. We believe that marriage and family life is the bedrock of society. We seek to promote greater awareness of the benefits of marriage for individuals, families and society at large. We work to see policies and laws implemented that support marriage and family life.

Premier reaches more than 1.2 million people every week through its 3 radio stations, magazines and digital platforms. Explore

Explore is a relationships education charity, set up in 2000 which delivers workshops that help young people discuss, evaluate and explore long-term, positive, healthy relationships within the context of marriage. Each session is run by a professional Explore local development officer who manages the whole session. Our pool of hundreds of volunteer married couples attend schools with us and take part in a facilitated dialogue with students. Students are encouraged to ask whatever questions they want to, direct to the couple, who give open and honest answers concerning their own relationship. The charity in funded through voluntary donations and a contribution from schools. They are always keen to introduce new couples with interesting stories to tell. Students and teachers consistently rate Explore workshops excellent or very good.

Prepare-Enrich

The Prepare-Enrich programme helps couples prepare for marriage, enrich their relationship, or review and improve their co-parenting by taking stock of their strengths and growth areas. Facilitators, once trained, can help couples develop skills which are key to any relationship and communicate better on important topics. Anyone who wishes to help couples to improve their relationship can benefit from using these thoroughly researched and demonstrably effective inventories.prepare-enrich.co.uk

Toucan

Toucan is a fresh and unique online series for couples. Toucan brings together practical relationship tools with video clips of couples from a wide range of backgrounds and ages sharing their own experiences honestly and openly, alongside interactive exercises, fun quizzes, engaging animation and eye-catching graphics. Family breakdown costs £50bn a year

When couples split up, families move from one to two households. Poverty is a common outcome that affects children. Six out of ten lone parents are supported by the state compared to one out of ten couple parents. That's where most of the £50bn is spent.

UK Among highest family breakdown in Europe

Five years ago, the UK had the highest rate of family breakdown in Europe. We're not doing as badly today, but only because of big falls in divorce rates. Alas there's no sign of a similar improvement among cohabitees

Lower Divorce Rates – Higher Lone Parents

Divorce rates have plummeted over the past 3 decades, but the number of lone parents has doubled in the same period. Why?... Because unmarried parents make up only one in five cohabiting parents but are responsible for one half of all family breakdown.

Stability is found in Marriage

Whereas stability is the norm if parents are married (75% stay together), it is the exception if they are not (30% stay together). As a result, among parents of teens who are still together as a couple, nine out of ten are married

Single Most Important Factor

The single most important factor in a child’s healthy development is the stable relationship of the parents. Our groundbreaking research shows that family breakdown is the #1 predictor of teenage mental health problems.
